Fort Campbell is home of the Screaming Eagles, of the 101st Airborne Division, the only Air Assault Division in the world, it lies on the Kentucky – Tennessee border between the towns of Hopkinsville KY and Clarksville TN about 60 miles northwest of Nashville on I-24. As home to the Army’s most-deployed contingency forces, Fort Campbell is an Army installation that supports active and reserve component units, Army civilians, Army Families, retirees and veterans.  

Fort Campbell supports the 3rd largest military population in the Army and the 7th largest in the Department of Defense.  Soldiers assigned to Fort Campbell can expect to have one of the highest quality of life standards in the Army.  New housing, quality medical care, thriving communities, recreation and schools combine to ensure that Fort Campbell is a World Class Community.

The mission of the 101st is to train and maintain combat readiness needed to deploy rapidly anywhere in the world, to fight and win, and to sustain combat operations. The 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) is formed of four Brigades Combat Team (BCT) plus 101st Aviation Brigade, 159th Aviation Brigade, 101st Sustainment Brigade and several separate commands. The six major tenants units at Fort Campbell include 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne), 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne), U.S Army Medical Activity, TN Valley District Corps of Engineer, Veterinary Command and U.S Army Dental Activity.  

On the installation, Blanchfield Army Community Hospital occupies more than 494,000 square feet within the hospital and an additional 274,000 square feet of medical facilities outside the main hospital. The medical services employees a workforce of approximately 1,480 military and civilian employees, BACH provides quality health care and outstanding customer service to approximately 102,161 active duty and retired Soldiers and their Family members.
